MAVERIC Airbus new concept aircraft

MAVERIC the new Airbus concept aircraft

Airbus has revealed to MAVERIC (Aircraft Model for Validación and Experimentationón of Robust Innovative Controls) your technology demonstratoróscale model logic «integrated fuselage».

With 2 meters long and 3,2 meters wide, with an area of approx. 2,25 m², MAVERIC (is not relatedón with Top Gun) presents a designñthe disruptive aircraft, which has the potential to reduce the fuel consumption even in a 20 percent comparedón with current aisle aircraft único.

The configurationón of «integrated fuselage» spaghettién opens new possibilities for integrationónumber of propulsion systemsón, así like a cabináuseful for a completely new passenger experience on board.

Launched in 2017, MAVERIC voló for the first time to the skies in June 2019. Since then, the flight test team has advanced the process and will continueá until the end of the second quarter of 2020 in studies.

Airbus Eastá using your core engineering strengths and capabilitiesía and manufacturingón, in close collaborationón with an innovation ecosystemón extended, to accelerate traditional research cyclesón and development. By doing this, Airbus is capable of achieving proof of concepts, at compelling scale and speed, boosting theí maturity and increasing the value of the project.

A través de AirbusUpNext, a research programón, Airbus isá currently working on several demonstration projectsón in parallel; E-FAN X (propulsionón híflange-elécitrica), fello’fly (flight in «formationón» V-shaped) and ATTOL (auto taxi takeoff and landingónomos).
