  5. Greetings Nicolas, I was assigned to work on Santa Cruz Island; I am an athlete and therefore I consume proteins and hydrolyzed amino acids., Could you please tell me if the entry of these types of products is restricted?

  6. I want to bring a considerable amount of beef to make roasts , I will have a problem? If I declare such a situation , There would be no problems ?

  7. Hi Nicolas.
Before I arrived I ticked yes on the form as I brought a bone and a shell I found on Ecuador packed up in plastic). I showed the staff at Baltra airport and they just waived me through. Im worried Im gonna get into trouble when leaving, they took the form so Ive no way to prove I had this before, but these items mean a lot to me so I really dont wanna dump them. Could you please advise?

    1. Hi Sunna, that is a really difficult situation. I would say that you will be fine when leaving the Islands, but there is always a chance of some random inspection of your luggage and those items might show up and might be treated as items taken from Galapagos.

      1. Thanks Nicolas 🙂 But arent they just gonna see it on their scanners? I had them in my purse when I got here, I showed it to them at the airport but then my purse wasnt scanned at the island and now Im panicking a bit as I wanna do this right and Im assuming they’d want to scan my purse before I leave the island

  8. good morning Nicholas, Your information is being very helpful.. My question is how do I carry the allowed products?. It can be inside my suitcase as I buy them in the supermarket or they have to go separately in a box or container packed with tape.
    thanks for your help.

  9. Thank You Nicolas for the time and detail you put into this article. It has been an enormous help to many. I have read and read again everything here and yet yet I find myself with one question..

Are Restricted Items on the list permitted with prior approval ?

    Thanks in Advance..

  10. hello, My question is if I can take some pre-filled refrigeration ampoules to the Galapagos that I apply for an autoimmune disease, I would take them in a butt with ice I'm from Manabí… yes I can take them… I thank you in advance for your answer.

  11. Hello there, I will be traveling with Argentinians and they ask me to see if you can take yerba mate. It does not appear in the lists of allowed or restricted from what they tell me. It can? Thanks

  12. Hi Nicolas, It is less to travel to Galapagos and a question arose with another object. For the food my mother usually eats, she uses a kitchen scale., those little ones that one has on the kitchen table, but we don't know if I could take it in this case. Works with two AA batteries. There will be problems to take her to the islands? Thank you for your comments, They are helpful.

  13. Hello Nicolás please comment: we are 14 people in my family who will travel to the Galapagos and do want to bring cereal, packaged bread, tuna , cookies etc for the department to which we arrived. Since we are many, they can make us a problem? And another question, for example, can you take packed ham? ? Thank you very much for your advice

  14. I can bring 2 dozens of small water bottles, 2 dozens of fuzetea teas, and 1 dozens of sodas, I'm going on tour 5 days with my son, Thank you

    1. Complicated, of power you can, but it could happen that at the park controls they make problems for you because of the amount you carry, It doesn't look like it's for personal use., but commercial and even more so because of the amount of plastic.

  15. Hi Nicolas, I carefully read your recommendations and the questions and answers. But as I have investigated more, I have new doubts that I leave you here:
The affidavit that is filled out upon arrival in the Galapagos says to mark yes or no: «I bring processed foods, fresh or cooked, plants, flores…» In the case of carrying canned goods, snacks, packaged products with their expiration and others as you mentioned, that counts as processed foods and should be checked "yes"? And there would be no problem with that?
About the new regulation of not carrying plastic bags or disposable bottles or cups, etc: Can I bring plastic cups that I will use for breakfast during my stay?? (because we don't have meals included) What I would take are not disposable, They are the ones I use in my house, and plastic containers to store products in the refrigerator? (neither disposable, I would take them empty but we plan to cook there and it would be to store those preparations during the stay) He uses the word “tubs” for that and we are not sure what it implies since we do not use that word in our country.. The information is this: https://twitter.com/CGGalapagos/status/1364976243490361347
And about the same ordinance, since plastic bags are not allowed, there are problems with the products that come packaged in bags of this material? For example, the snacks or cookies that we planned to take.
Thanks for your help once again.

    1. Hello German, there is no problem with anything you indicate, It is always better to declare saying yes on the form than to mark the opposite and be inspected, you will have bigger problems. There is no problem about plastic containers for drinks and storing food either., since they are multi-use plastics and you will take them back home. The plastic bags of cookies and others are not a problem either.

  16. Hello there, I wanted to know if there is a problem with bringing sweeteners that we use to sweeten the drinks since I can't find anything similar in the lists. They would be in their closed packages as they come out of the supermarket. Thanks

  17. Hello friend, I am going to travel to San Cristobal the first week of August, my question can i wear sunscreen, bone cream is for personal use, and another thing I go with my mother who uses medicine for diabetes and it is useful for her, that is, insulin, blood pressure tablets and syringe , but everything is use for my mom, Do you think they will make me a problem at the airport? ??; And finally, how is the weather the first week of August? , greetings and thank you very much for your answer

  18. Hi Nicolas, very useful information, Thank you. I will be traveling to the Galapagos in a few months and with my mother we would like to take preserves (like tuna, chickpeas, etc), packets of dry pasta, puffed rice crackers, tea bags, sweetener in sachets, snacks and cookies, etc. All packaged products, closed as we buy them in the supermarket here in our country. Do you think we have a problem with that?? Thanks since now.

    1. Hi Valen, as long as they are for personal use and in amounts that do not appear to be commercialized, they shouldn't have any problems. Everyone have a health record and the invoices would be good too.

  19. Cheers, Can I take a tent and put it on the beach for sun protection?? we don't want to camp…. I only use parasol type… Thanks for your prompt response and congratulations on your video.!

  20. Hi Nicolas, I'll tell you that the thing with the eggs was due to the avian flu that they had in November on the continent. Some people on the islands, They have chickens and ducks for the production of Creole eggs and we managed to get them. This week the ship arrived with many chicken eggs from the mainland. We have already returned to Colombia and happy to have known those magical islands. We hope to return one day. Blessings, And thanks again.

  21. Hi Nicolas, can you put me in contact with someone who can sell me chicken eggs (ca. 80)? We are already in Santa Cruz and literally "there have not been any for a while and they are not easy to get on the continent because of what happened and chickens are not easy to get either.", you have to wait to see if the ship brings on Saturday, but we haven't had a response in a while 2 market places.
    Thanks
Pd: we took the risk and brought a lot of protein and we had no problem 😉

  22. Kind regards Nicholas, again Laura from Colombia.
I read on some website (I don't remember what it was), that the Galapagos can only enter 20 kilos of luggage per person. Do you have information about it??
Thank you very much and Blessings 🙏🏼🌈⭐☀

      1. Thank you very much Nicholas.
As we found out that at this time chicken eggs are not available on the islands, we have to take more protein supplements. Blessings 🙏🏼🌈⭐☀

  23. Hi Nicolas, first greet you and thank you for the important guidance you give.
I am in Colombia and in January we are going to the Galapagos and since we are vegetarians we must take our protein supplement (vegan protein powder, -is the most important thing for us- and whey protein), fiber supplement (psyllum mucilage), and as gifts for the host, ground coffee and chocolates 70%. Do you have information about it??
Thank you very much for your service, Blessings.

  24. Good evening dear Nicolas., a query, I will soon travel with my family to the Galapagos and we want to bring some fruit (not in large quantities as it is for family consumption) from the mainland, I am clear that the tangerine, kiwi, apple and pear are restricted products, Could you tell me how I should wear them or what I should do so that they do not cause me problems due to the fact that they are restricted?? Thank you very much for your help.

  25. Hi Nicolas. We require preventive maintenance of some equipment installed in Galapagos for which we will need to carry lubricating oil. What is the correct way to carry it or is there any prohibition regarding this type of article? Thanks.

    1. In this case it is better that you check with the authorities of the Galapagos National Park, since it is an article that could generate contamination, I think you should have special permission to carry it. as a guy, If you have time, come early in the morning to the Quito and Guayaquil airports., approach the PNG agents and ask them directly, I'm sure they give you a better guideline and tell me what they tell you.

  26. Hello there, I am going to travel to Galapagos soon and I wanted to know if I can take cigarettes, somewhere I have read that it is forbidden to carry tobacco but I understand that they refer to the tobacco plant?
