the airínea Avianca Ecuador and Colombia have requested new international flights from/to Ecuador toward USA, Venezuela and Colombia.
Advancing with its commitment to increase connectivity to and from Ecuador directly, without having to go through Bogotaá, Avianca has requested new routes.
Within these new routes there are three that we already met at the end of December 2022, but that now materialize thanks to this recent order and other más.
Avianca requests new flights from Ecuador
in trámite púwar before the Directorateón General of Aviationón Civilian of Ecuador – DGAC, both the Colombian and Ecuadorian affiliates have requested new international flights under the following conditions:
Flights from Guayaquil and Quito to Medellín
Routes announced last December and what to startá in March:
- Avianca Ecuador: Quito and / or Guayaquil – Averageín and vice versa until 14 weekly frequencies with fourths freedoms of the air.
- Avianca Colombia: Averageín – Quito – Averageín until 7 weekly frequencies with third and fourth air freedoms.
- Avianca Colombia: Averageín – Guayaquil – Averageín until 7 weekly frequencies with third and fourth air freedoms.
Flights Guayaquil – Cartagena
Route announced last December and what to startá in March:
- Avianca Ecuador: Quito and / or Guayaquil – Cartagena and vice versa until 7 weekly frequencies with fourth air freedoms.
- Avianca Colombia: Cartagena – Guayaquil – Averageín until 7 weekly frequencies with third and fourth air freedoms.
These three new routes canán be operated by both subsidiaries that mayán messes upún operational needs of the company such as fleet, hours and staff availability.
Más flights to New York, but from Quito
In this new series of orders, the request for an increase in flights to New York, includedéndondo the Quito point in the same:
- Quito and/or Guayaquil and New York with up to 14 weekly frequencies with third and fourth air freedoms.
With this order you caníwe love waiting for the próxith announcement of the start of direct flights between Quito and New York (úLast flight was with Tame EP on 31 of January of 2019), also maintainingén the current route from Guayaquil, this is just an inferenceón typical of whoever writes these lídenies.
Spaghettién, we can wait for the transfer of planes Airbus A320neo a Avianca Ecuador para la operationón of both routes along the present añO.
New route to Caracas – Venezuela
Another interesting novelty is the request for a new route for Avianca Ecuador to Venezuela:
- Quito and / or Guayaquil – Caracas and vice versa with 7 weekly frequencies with rights of third and fourth air freedoms.
On the potential new flights to Caracas and Quito – New York, We will now have to wait for the official announcement of the start of operations, subject as always to market conditions and fleet availability for these to materialize, but we emphasize that placing the order is an important step prior to.
Let us also rememberén that these routes are added to the previous request made to operate up to one daily flight between Quito and Cancún, the same one that was authorized and is pending start of operations.
¿Whaté another route you might likeífor Avianca to fly to and from Ecuador?
Avianca always promotes Ecuador in other Latin American countries, rarely, that's why I fly more with Avianca, it supports my country more 🇪🇨
Thanks for your comment, both have done promotion, I couldn't tell you which one is more or which one is less.
Good morning Nicholas
On the routes from Guaysquil to Madrid and New York that were suspended due to the pandemic, sr knows if hsy intentions to reactivate them?
Hi jimmy, Are you referring to the LATAM ones?, TRUE?
Correct
new york sounds. I don't see Madrid coming back.
Is there any news about the open skies agreement with the United States?? And he thinks that Latam will announce more routes?, since they are lagging behind
I understand the Open Skies agreement needs to be confirmed by a higher entity such as Congress. From LATAM, what routes do you think is missing?
Thanks for the information! I think that Latam would do well on the following routes Quito – São Paulo, Quito- Orlando (it can be for seasons). It can also serve New York or Barcelona from Guayaquil if it triangulates with Quito. From Guayaquil it can also be to Mexico or Cali. It also had routes without restart like Quito – Santiago or Guayaquil – Madrid.
I support all the routes you mention, Since each and every one of them has potential. Unfortunately, I do see Madrid as complicated given the competition that currently exists on that route..
a weekly frequency from Manta to Miami or New York to help the Manabitas and avoid expensive trips to Guayaquil and Quito?
I don't know if a weekly frequency would be enough to make the operation profitable, but we can't rule anything out!
Quito-Madrid route. Direct flight without passing through Bogota …it would be great and profitable ….
very good route, totally agree. It would be with Boeing 787 in this case.
It would be good to advance the efforts to approve the direct flight uio-ccs-uio, maybe not with 7 weekly frequencies but at least 3 since how do you know, Not all Venezuelans are able to travel all the time, but this route would be very beneficial
The procedure in Ecuador is short, the biggest difficulty is obtaining permission from Venezuela.
I love hearing about new routes, but for the one in New York, he believes that the 787 possibly? I recently took a flight to Toronto with avianca and it was intolerable with the new interiors.
Hi Carlos, if the claim is justified, you can't rule out the Boeing 787, although I really doubt it in the medium term. It's a short route for a long-range plane.
Quito-San Andres. Quito-Leticia. Quito-Iquitos. Quito-Cuzco. Quito-La Paz.
As I see it: Quito – San Andres maybe in holiday season and not all year. Quito – Leticia I do not see demand. Quito – Iquitos I do not see demand either. Quito – Cuzco seems interesting to me, but I have doubts about the demand to fly all year. Quito – Peace, the same as Cusco.
I would like the route Cuenca New York and New York Coenca
good route, but unfortunately the shortness of the Cuenca runway does not allow such a long flight.
